Dr. Khavkin grew up in Moscow, Russia. He started medical school at 16 years of age and was the first foreign medical school to transfer to an American Medical School, University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine.Â
He did his neurosurgical training at University of Chicago and Johns Hopkins University.
He previously served as the Director of Neurosurgical Spine Service at Northwestern University in Chicago.
Dr. Khavkin specializes in the evaluation and treatment of spine problems and offers both nonsurgical and surgical treatment options. He has performed over 8000 spine surgeries and recognized world wide and the leading expert in the treatment of spine disorders.
